Pia Whitesell sports an unusually budget Aussie fashion accessory during trip Down Under with her multi-millionaire husband Patrick after moving into his $57million LA mansion

Pia Whitesell proved that not everything has to be designer when she wore a very budget fashion item during a New Year’s cruise through Sydney Harbour.

The former Home and Away star, 40, now lives in Los Angeles but returned to Australia to ring in the new year with her multi-millionaire husband Patrick Whitesell.

And on Wednesday, the couple celebrated the first day of 2025 in style as they took a luxury boat trip with a group of friends.

Pia showed off her incredible figure in a vibrant green two-piece, which she paired with a multi-colored sarong.

She also proved she hasn’t forgotten her roots when she wore a very Australian fashion accessory: a large straw hat from Bunnings Warehouse.

The $6.90 hat, with a green band with the Bunnings logo on it, was an unusual budget item compared to her usually high-end designer wardrobe.

Pia’s husband, Hollywood agent Patrick, 59, was also spotted wearing the iconic fashion item while chatting to their friends during the cruise.

They aren’t the first celebrities to wear the Aussie accessory, as Harry Styles wore the hat on stage at his Love On Tour shows Down Under last year.

Rose Byrne and Post Malone have also been spotted wearing the budget hat, as it has proven to be a world-famous item, even among global megastars.

Pia showed a passion for Australian fashion items on her most recent trip back to her native country when she wore a different themed hat earlier this week.

Sharing a glimpse into her New Year’s Eve celebrations, Pia took to Instagram to share a photo of herself wearing the iconic Australian cork hat to help ward off the flies.

Captioning the photo, Pia revealed it was a gift from former Home and Away producer and current Head of Drama at Seven Julia McGauran.

Pia is joined Down Under by her husband Patrick and her sons Isaiah, 20, and Lennox, 16, who she welcomed during two previous relationships.

They all rang in the New Year on a luxury yacht as they took the top spot to watch the world famous fireworks in Sydney Harbour.

For the evening, Pia dressed to the nines to ring in 2025 as she put on a very glamorous show in a sparkling silver mini dress.

Other photos from the night showed Pia beaming from ear to ear as she posed with Patrick and her beloved sons.

Pia was only 19 years old when she became pregnant with eldest son Isaiah, whom she shares with her ex-boyfriend.

She later welcomed her youngest son Lennox with her ex Brad Miller.

Pia moved to the United States after marrying Patrick in a secret ceremony in May 2021, and her two sons joined her to start a new life in Los Angeles.

They fully immersed themselves in the American way of life, with Lennox joining a football team at his high school while Isaiah went to college.

Since moving to the US, Pia and Patrick have set up their forever home on a huge AUD$57 million Tuscan-style estate in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles, which Patrick owns.

The property features a resort-style swimming pool, a driveway lined with olive trees and even a private maid’s quarters for the staff.

The country house has a luxurious but cozy appearance on the inside, with graceful high ceilings, fireplaces and an impressive foyer.

There is also a gourmet kitchen, library and home theater, in addition to a smaller guesthouse on site.

Covering over 19,000 square metres, it is set on 1.35 hectares of land and features a first-class security system and a gated driveway, with privacy guaranteed as it is not visible from the street.

Holmby Hills is one of LA’s most exclusive neighborhoods and their home is close to the AUD$220 million mansion built for the late TV executive Aaron Spelling and his widow, Candy Spelling.

Also nearby is the infamous Playboy Mansion once owned by the late Hugh Hefner.

Pia and Patrick gave their home a makeover before moving in, making extensive renovations while living in an oceanfront property in Malibu.

Pia often gives fans a glimpse into the palatial paradise on her Instagram page, sharing a series of beautiful photos from their childhood home.

Patrick is the executive chairman of talent agency Endeavor and is widely regarded as one of the most influential men in films.

He has an estimated net worth of AUD$630 million and a client list that includes Ben Affleck, Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale.

Pia is a Chilean-born actress and model who famously played Katarina Chapman in Home and Away.

The couple started dating after Patrick’s ex-wife Lauren Sanchez left him for Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, 58, the world’s richest man, in one of 2019’s biggest scandals.

Patrick was the one who introduced Lauren to Jeff in 2016, and she left him for the multi-billionaire e-commerce entrepreneur in May 2019.

Patrick and Lauren, who share 15-year-old son Evan and 14-year-old daughter Eleanor Patricia, finalized their divorce in October 2019.
