Physical therapist under fire for saying he was ‘disappointed’ Trump’s killer was missed
A physical therapist has come under fire after expressing disappointment online that the shooter of Donald Trump missed.
Stuart Eivers, who works in the Seattle area, wrote a few hours after the attack on X: “Too bad they missed the attack.”
The post was uploaded in a message tagging a CNN article revealing that the former president was rushed off stage at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
Eivers was soon criticized for his statements, with some even calling for his resignation.
His employer, MTI Physical Therapy in Washington, said it was “internally managing the situation with this employee,” adding that Eivers “deeply regretted” posting his comment online, which was “inconsistent with his deeper values of nonviolence.”
Eivers’ post was first shared on TikTok’s wildly popular X account Libs.

The case comes after numerous investigations and suspensions have been launched in the United States after health care workers, university officials and others were caught ridiculing the Trump shooting.
A nurse at a major New York City hospital and a pharmacy worker in Texas have both lost their jobs after posting online that they were disappointed the assassination attempt failed.
Responding to Eivers’ comment, one person said, “How differently would a patient be treated if he walked in wearing a hat or a shirt to support a man he was comfortable enough to wish dead? This absolutely matters.”
A second said: “Unprofessional and disgraceful. Seattle deserves better than Stuart Eivers.”
While two others said, “his employers should fire him immediately” and “when will they learn… my husband just lost his job with only one vacancy.”
After the reports became known, Eivers deleted his tweet and his X account.
According to LinkedIn, he has been working as a physical therapist in the Seattle, Washington area for nearly two and a half decades.

Responding to his comments, his employer said: ‘MTI shares our nation’s outrage over the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. As a healthcare institution, we do not tolerate or support violence of any kind.
‘An employee posted a comment on his personal social media account that does not reflect the views of our company.
“This employee has acknowledged that his message was inappropriate and inconsistent with his deeper values of nonviolence.
“He regrets posting this thoughtless and emotional comment and apologizes for his actions. He realizes that an apology will not make up for the dire situation that has already occurred. To be clear, he does not wish any harm on the former president or anyone else.”
They added: “MTI will immediately resolve the situation with this employee internally and appreciates your patience and understanding.”
The American Physical Therapy Association, which sets standards for the profession, says physical therapists must remain impartial.
The Code of Ethics states: ‘Physiotherapists should behave with respect towards all persons, regardless of age, gender, race, nationality, religion, ethnicity, social or economic status, sexual orientation, health condition or disability.
‘Physiotherapists must be aware of their personal prejudices and may not discriminate against others in practice, during consultations, during training, in research and in the administration of physiotherapists.’
