A phlebotomist has been charged for allegedly giving a female patient an intimate swab test without consent.
The 27-year-old man is accused of carrying out the procedure on August 31 at a pathology clinic in Willetton, south Perth.
He allegedly advised the patient that she needed to have an intimate swab test, even though the test had reportedly not been requested and he did not have permission to do it.
A phlebotomist is a professional trained to collect blood samples from patients in hospitals or a collection facility.

The 27-year-old was charged with two counts of sexual penetration without consent.
He will appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court on October 10.
The Dianella man has since worked as a phlebotomist at the clinic July 2021.
Investigators are calling on anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
