Philadelphia Eagles star’s father ‘is caught with a loaded gun’ during traffic stop in New York City
The father of a Philadelphia Eagles star was caught with a loaded gun while driving in the Bronx, according to multiple reports.
New York police discovered the gun after arresting Alibay Barkley during a traffic stop at the intersection of 140th Street and Third Avenue in Mott Haven, Fox News reported Thursday evening.
It is unclear whether there were any other passengers in the car at the time of the traffic stop.
Alibay Barkley is the father of former Giants running back Saquon Barkley, who grew up in the Bronx and played in New York for the past six seasons. According to Fox News, Barkley Sr could now be charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
Saquon, 27, was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2018. He signed with the Eagles as a free agent in March.

Little is known about Barkley’s father, other than that he was a boxer during the NFL star’s youth and served a year behind bars, according to Essentially Sports. According to the newspaper, Barkley Sr. moved his family to Pennsylvania after serving his prison sentence.
