Philadelphia Eagles player Josh Sills has been acquitted by a jury of raping and kidnapping a former high school classmate in 2019.

Jury members handed down a verdict on Friday after deliberating for nearly three hours. The 25-year-old showed no emotion when the decision was read out.

“I did nothing wrong,” Sills said in court after thanking the jury. The defense had called the victim the “girl who cries wolf.”

Sills was charged with both first-degree felonies in February, about two weeks before his team played the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Following the verdict, his attorney Michael Connick reportedly said the guard will travel to Philadelphia and rejoin the Eagles in a few days.

Sills was charged with forcing a woman to perform oral sex on him in his truck for “about 20 minutes.”

The victim, who was identified only by the initials MM, was said to have been “forcefully restrained” by Sills in his truck.

Her cousin, who spent the evening with her before the alleged attack, took the stand for the prosecution on Tuesday.

Breanna Woods testified, according to WTRFthat a group of friends, including herself and MM, had gone to some bars with Sills, who they allegedly knew from high school, to meet them.

Sills was an undrafted free agent who appeared in just one game for the Eagles this season

She alleged that the NFL player offered to drive them home and pinched MM’s leg during the journey to Woods’ home, where the victim was also staying.

At the house, Woods got out, but MM said she would be “in a minute.” Woods said she went in and fell asleep, awoke the next morning to find MM “upset and shaken.”

Prosecutors had alleged that Sills had violently restrained and raped the woman in December 2019. The defense said it was consensual.

Sills spent four years at West Virginia University before moving to Oklahoma State. In 2022, he was not drafted again before being signed by the Philadelphia Eagles.
