Philadelphia Eagles give huge update on Jalen Hurts’ status ahead of Wild Card playoff game

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has cleared the concussion protocol and will start the team’s Wild Card playoff game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon.

Hurts’ clean bill of health was revealed Friday by Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, with him out of action since Philadelphia’s Dec. 22 loss to the Washington Commanders.

During the first quarter of that bitter NFC East showdown, Hurts took a hard hit on the field and had not appeared in a game since.

Kenny Pickett started in place of Hurts, with the Eagles not losing a game in which the former Pittsburgh quarterback played all four quarters.

The team will undoubtedly get a boost with Hurts back in the fold with his dual-threat ability.

The Eagles are the No. 2 seed in the NFC after finishing the regular season 14-3.

Should Philadelphia beat Green Bay, it would be a guaranteed home game in the Divisional Round.

The Eagles fell out of the playoffs in the Wild Card round last year against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

During the 2022 season, Philadelphia won the NFC with Hurts as a signal caller before falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Hurts wouldn’t get a chance to avenge the loss to the Commanders until the NFC Championship, if not until next season due to seeding.

Should the Eagles beat the Packers, a win in Washington would guarantee them a trip to Detroit for the Divisional Round as the lowest remaining seed in the NFC.
