Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid limps to the locker room clutching his left knee after on-court tangle left him screaming in agony against the Golden State Warriors
Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid suffered another worrying injury on Tuesday evening after coming into contact with Golden State Warriors rival Jonathan Kuminga.
Embiid had played 30 minutes of the game when he returned from another injury and scored 14 points, when he and teammate Danuel House Jr. trying to secure a loose ball in the fourth quarter.
Unfortunately for the center, the incident caused Kuminga to land on Embiid’s left knee, causing him to scream in pain on the court.
With commentators speculating whether he had ‘hyper-extended’ his knee, the Cameroonian received treatment on the pitch before returning to the dressing room.
A small positive for 76ers fans was that Embiid was able to get through the tunnel on his own, but it’s just the latest injury in a difficult season.

The 29-year-old Embiid has already missed 12 games this season, and if he has to sit out another five, he won’t be eligible for the NBA postseason awards.
It was a knee injury that had forced him to sit out the Sixers’ last two games, both of which ended in losses to the Trail Blazers and Nuggets.
He was injured late Saturday night, prompting the league to investigate the circumstances of the injury, according to ESPN.
He was not mentioned in pre-match injury reports, but one source claimed he was pulled from the lineup by the medical staff because he could “barely jump” during warm-ups.
The Sixers are 29-17 after Tuesday night’s 119-107 loss to the Warriors, and sit fourth in the Eastern Conference, 6.5 games back of the league-leading Boston Celtics.
