Microsoft’s gaming head Phil Spencer has said there are no “red lines” regarding the release of more Xbox games on PlayStation.
The company’s multiplatform push began earlier this year, including HiFi rush, Grounded, PentimentAnd Sea of thieves are making their way to PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Now Spencer has revealed that he isn’t against more Xbox games being released on other platforms, but has been reluctant to confirm which titles.
In a recent interview with BloombergSpencer said: “I think the ball is moving in the right direction. I think this idea of open platforms, where users have more choice, creators have more choice, you see the momentum, right?”
The Xbox boss continued, saying he’s happy with the start of the multiplatform plan, confirming, according to Bloomberg, that Microsoft “wants to do more of that” and that it won’t be excluding any titles in its major franchises.
“I don’t see any red lines in our portfolio that say, ‘Thou shalt not,’” Spencer said, but added that it is too early to decide on the next version of Halo.

Following the announcement, Spencer explained the surprise PS5 release, calling it a business move for the company.
“Obviously we launched four games last spring, two on Switch and four on PlayStation, and we said we were going to learn,” Spencer said. “We said we would look. I think I could have said during (the) Showcase that based on what we learned, we’re going to do more.
“What I see, when I look, is our franchises are getting stronger. Our Xbox console player numbers are as high as they’ve ever been this year. So I look at that and say, okay, our player numbers are going to be up for years to come.” console platform. Our franchises are as strong as they have ever been.”
