Phil Neville has said he needs to turn Inter Miami’s form around as soon as possible after seeing his team lose for a sixth straight game in Major League Soccer this weekend.
Miami lost 1-0 to Houston Dynamo on Saturday night, with Daniel Steres scoring the decisive goal in the 72nd minute, despite creating a series of chances throughout the match.
When Neville spoke up afterwards, acknowledging that fans are getting restless, he made no apologies for the dramatic drop in form.
“It’s nowhere near good enough for what we want at this club,” said Neville. “We just have to keep going, keep believing in everything we do, keep believing that the tide will turn.
“We need to turn it around as soon as possible. I think you saw a team that deserved to win the game. You can write what you want, you can believe what you want, but that’s a fact.’

That said, Neville claimed he was still “angry” at his team.
“I was angry with them,” he said. “I wasn’t mad at their efforts. They did everything I asked, except for one thing: put the ball in the back of the net.’
Neville accepted that fans are not happy right now.
“They are right to look at me,” he added. “What I would say is to keep believing in the players. We have a great bunch of players, the tide will turn and it has to turn soon.
“We have to keep climbing. We have the best fans in my opinion, they support us through thick and thin and we need them now more than anything. I take all criticism and responsibility, it falls on my shoulders.’
Miami is now 14th out of 15 teams in the MLS Eastern Conference and will face fifth-placed Columbus next weekend.
Before that, there is a game against Miami in the US Open Cup on Wednesday, which should be a chance to win again against an unexpected opponent.
But if there was a shock defeat, the voices of discontent around Miami and Neville will only get louder.
