Phil Foden is pictured for the first time after birth of his baby son as he returns to England duty at the Euros

Phil Foden has been pictured for the first time since returning to England’s training camp on Thursday after the birth of his third child.

The Football Association confirmed on Wednesday that the Manchester City star had returned to the UK due to an ‘urgent family matter’.

Foden boarded a plane back to England on Tuesday immediately after the draw against Slovenia to be with his family.

The striker’s partner, Rebecca Cooke, has had a baby and Foden has quickly returned to Germany. He is back training at England’s Weimar base in preparation for their last-16 tie against Slovakia on Sunday.

In April, it was revealed that the 24-year-old and Cooke, 22, were expecting their third child. The family posed in front of a blue and white balloon arch with bold LED letters spelling ‘Baby Foden’ on it.

The family celebrated their exciting news with a lavish baby shower, sharing photos of the festivities online.

An English Football Association spokesperson said: ‘Phil Foden has temporarily left the England training camp and returned to the UK due to an urgent family matter.’

Cooke and Foden have a son, Ronnie, five, and a daughter, True, who turned one earlier this year.

The name of his third child has not yet been revealed.

Ronnie, who has his own Instagram account with four million followers and is managed by his parents, shared an insight into the baby shower celebrations on his social media account.

The message read: ‘I had the most amazing day with the most amazing people.’

After finishing top of their group, England drew with Slovakia in the last 16 of Euro 2024. Should England progress, they will face the winner of Switzerland’s last 16 clash with Italy.

Foden is yet to score at Euro 2024 and the Three Lions will be hoping the Man City star will see his best form in the knockout stages after putting in three disappointing performances in the group stages despite finishing top.

Foden and Cooke are childhood sweethearts and reportedly first met at a party when they were teenagers, and have been together ever since

The couple, who are both from Stockport in Greater Manchester, keep their relationship largely out of the public eye, with Cooke keeping her social media accounts private.

The couple welcomed their son Ronnie into the world in 2019, with Foden, who was 18 when his son was born, having previously spoken about the transition of becoming a father to his young son Ronnie.

‘I was there at the birth. I walked out of the room, shed a tear and then went back in as if nothing had happened,” he said during an interview with Manchester City.

‘I’m not someone who likes to cry in front of people. I like to be alone, but I was there in the room, saw it happen and it was a special moment.

‘Your life changes. There is no free time, which is probably why I have so much trouble fishing.

“I enjoyed every moment of it. To be honest, he was quite well behaved. He doesn’t make it difficult for me, which is good.

“He sleeps through until about 7am. I haven’t really had to get up in the middle of the night, so I’ve had a good night’s sleep.”

Foden is the youngest professional footballer to win six Premier League titles. Earlier this season he helped Pep Guardiola’s side win their fourth consecutive trophy.

He was also named Premier League Player of the Year and Football Writer’s Association Player of the Year for his outstanding performances for Manchester City during the 2023–24 season.

Speaking about his family life, a source close to the star told MailOnline: ‘Phil is very close to his family, especially his parents.

‘They, along with Rebecca, have been a constant source of support for Ronnie when he felt the pressure and when the going got tough.’

Rebecca and Foden live in a luxury £2 million mansion in Bramhall, Manchester. The footballer bought the house when he was 18 and broke into the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Kobbie Mainoo is doing his best to secure his first starting spot at Euro 2024 on Sunday against Slovakia.

The Manchester United star has come on as a substitute in two of England’s three group games and was particularly impressive in the 0-0 draw with Slovenia on Tuesday.

Mainoo replaced Conor Gallagher that evening, and the youngster is a strong contender to play in the last 16 on Sunday.

If he does play, Mainoo is expected to partner Declan Rice, despite the England midfield lynchpin missing training on Thursday.

Rice, who has played 62 games since the start of the season, was rested and is expected to return to full training on Friday.

Kieran Trippier, who only returned from a calf injury on the final day of the domestic season, also missed training on Thursday due to ‘load management’.
