The PGA Championship organisers have said they are planning to restart play at Wentworth this weekend after suspending play following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday.

They released the following statement: ‘We remain hopeful of restarting the BMW PGA Championship at some stage over the weekend.

‘We will take that decision once we have had the chance to review protocol guidance from Buckingham Palace in addition to aligning with what other major sporting events in the UK are doing. We will update you as soon as we have further information.’
