Kumar Venkatasubramanian will be the new CEO of Procter & Gamble India from May 1 as incumbent LV Vaidyanathan has decided to move on after 28 years with the FMCG giant.

Venkatasubramanian currently leads P&G’s operations in Australia and New Zealand as CEO, where he has delivered record numbers. Before his overseas role, he led the sales team at P&G India until 2020.

Venkatasubramanian, an alumnus of IIM Calcutta, had started his journey with P&G in the sales team in India in 2000, soon after leaving campus.

The current CEO Vaidyanathan had also started his career at P&G India as an intern in 1995 and rose through the ranks.

“Under his leadership, P&G India has made great strides toward delivering superior propositions to Indian consumers and has delivered consistent, balanced growth in both sales and profits,” the company said in a press release.

Stanislav Vecera, P&G President for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa said: “I would like to thank LV for his outstanding leadership of the India organization and his service to P&G for almost three decades. I wish him all the best for his future endeavors. I am very pleased with the appointment of Kumar Venkatasubramanian as CEO of India, who has been an integral part of P&G India’s growth story for over two decades.”
