Peterborough walked away from Madejski Stadium with three points on the opening day of the new season kicking off, but one fan found themselves in hot water.
In what has become commonplace in English football clashes, over-enthusiastic supporters divided into the stands by stewards shout insults at each other from different parts of the stadium.
The warring supporters try to unnerve each other and on rare occasions it gets physical, as was almost the case in Saturday’s League One game.

The typical foul-mouthed exchange occurs before the visiting fan appears to attempt to spit across the barrier into the crowd.
However, the seemingly repulsive attempt doesn’t go according to plan, as the youthful-looking cardholder soon found out after the attempt.

The supporter rises to try to raise himself above his targets, overcooks his jump and tumbles headfirst over the railing and into the ground.
Halfway through, he ends up between two stewards who understandably don’t seem to understand what just happened at first.
The slapstick moment of madness continues as the embarrassed fan quickly realizes they’ve fallen within range of barking Reading supporters and jumps back to his feet.
There are some fans who want to pull the Peterborough aggressor into the crowd, but he’s gone as quickly as he arrived and jumps back over the barrier, unscathed but regretting his actions.
