Peter Schmeichel’s awkward reaction is caught on camera after son Kasper concedes SEVEN goals in Celtic’s loss at Borussia Dortmund… as he reveals words of advice he gave after Champions League humiliation
TV cameras captured Peter Schmeichel’s reaction when son Kasper conceded seven times as Celtic were defeated by Borussia Dortmund.
The Bundesliga side wasted little time getting going in the Champions League match, with former Liverpool star Emre Can starting the rout from the penalty spot after Schmeichel brought down Jamie Gittens.
Celtic immediately reacted to falling behind, but Daizen Maeda equalized from close range moments later.
However, the reprieve ultimately proved short-lived and Karim Adeyemi restored Dortmund’s lead after a frantic spell of three goals in the space of four minutes.
From there the night would only go from bad to worse for Brendan Rodgers’ side, with Adeyemi completing a first-half hat-trick and Dortmund adding another from the penalty spot through Serhou Guirassy before the break.

Dortmund continued to push after the restart and Guirassy added another after the hour, with Felix Nmecha completing the rout in the closing stages.
After Nmecha made it seven for the hosts, Peter Schmeichel could be seen looking irritated as he watched from the portal.
Although the scoreline was a nightmare for the Scottish champions, Schmeichel made several saves throughout the match to prevent his side from suffering an even heavier defeat.
In his post-match speech, the elder Schmeichel described his feelings for the Celtic goalkeeper during the match.
“It’s really hard.” Peter said on CBS Sports.
‘Because you always want the best for your children. It doesn’t matter what situation they’re in, and of course today was just one of those days you can never explain.
‘There were so many shots on target that seven went in. There could have been a little more in it. As Callum McGregor said to me earlier, it was just one of those days where they just couldn’t get close enough to close that out.

“I talked to Kasper when he came out of the game here and I said, ‘This was a bad, bad day at the office and consider it nothing more. Go on, be one of the leaders in the locker room and help everyone recover. out of here.”‘
The 37-year-old arrived at Celtic Park this summer on a one-year deal after stints at Nice and Anderlecht after leaving Leicester following a glittering 11-year spell in 2022.
