Peter Dinklage and his wife Erica Schmidt look loved up as they attend the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts movie premiere in New York

He voices Mirage in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and Peter Dinklage attended the film premiere in New York on Monday.

The actor, 53, had the support of his loving wife, screenwriter Erica Schmidt, 47, on the night posing by his side for photos on the red carpet.

The couple married in 2005

The latest film, released on June 9, is set in the ’90s and tells the story of a new faction of Transformers – the Maximals – who join the Autobots as allies in the battle for Earth.

Peter looked smart in jeans and a gray T-shirt topped with a jacket, while Erica opted for a patterned blue dress.

The Game Of Thrones star also plays the title character Cyrano de Bergerac, in Cyrano and Erica also wrote the film’s screenplay based on her own stage adaptation of Edmond Rostand’s 1897 play.

With productions such as The Sorcerer, All The Fine Boys and also Cyrano on her CV, Erica has made a name for herself in the theater world.

The film has already garnered nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy (Dinklage) at the 79th Golden Globe Awards, along with four nominations at the 75th British Academy Film Awards and a Best Costume Design nod at the 94th Academy Awards.

After ten years of marriage, Peter gushed about his wife in a 2015 interview with The protectorsaying she is “brilliant”.

He added, “She loves theatre. Unlike many other people in our profession where film is the ultimate goal, theater is sacred to her. It’s not entertainment; it’s art.’

‘She’s very inspiring. She’s definitely the artist of the family… I’m just the TV actor who pays the bills.’

The pair met at a friend’s house on a magical evening when they went elephant watching through the Queens-Midtown Tunnel.
