Peter Andre reminisces over meeting and falling in love with ex-wife Katie Price on I’m A Celebrity

They fell in love before the eyes of the nation on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here in 2004 and got married a year later.

And on Friday’s episode of This Morning, Peter Andre, 49, reminisced about meeting and falling in love with his ex-wife Katie Price, 44, during their time as camp mates, when she was known as Jordan.

The pop star reflected on how their romance began, and gushed about the kids he shares with Katie — Junior, 17, and Princess, 15 — for being the “only jungle babies ever!”

Peter spoke enthusiastically about the upcoming series I’m A Celebrity: ‘It’s such a good line-up! I was there in 2004, there are so many memories when I hear the music.

And of his oldest children, Junior and Princess, he gushed, “They’re my kids’ only jungle babies ever!”

Later, when asked who made the best friendships in the Australian jungle camp, Peter reminisced: “I mean, I fell in love… it was an interesting time!” while reflecting on his romance with Katie.

After falling in love during their I’m A Celeb stint in 2004, Katie and Peter married a year later.

They tied the knot at a lavish princess wedding at the grand Highclere Castle, which would later become known as the setting for the historical drama Downton Abbey.

However, their romance did not last long and after welcoming two children, the couple divorced in 2009 after more than four years of marriage.

The glamor model is also mother to son Harvey, 20, from her relationship with Dwight Yorke and Jett, nine, and daughter Bunny, eight, with estranged husband Kieran Hayler.

Peter then married doctor Emily MacDonagh, 33, with whom he now shares two children, daughter Amelia, eight, and son Theordore, five.

Mother-of-five Katie spoke about their jungle romance during an appearance on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity…A Jungle Story in 2020.

She admitted, “I was just fixated on Pete. People saw our relationship develop. Having Pete out there in the jungle made it easier because you would fall asleep thinking about him and wake up seeing him there.

‘If you didn’t click with someone in there, I think it’s pretty heavy and lonely. “It was a real love story and I think me and Pete are the only ones who have had children.”

The reality star was then shown footage of herself during her jungle stint, speaking of her growing feelings for the singer, where she admitted, “I get on really well with Pete, he’d be the type of guy I’d go for, but I have a boyfriend.’

Presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly watched the same clip in a home theater with Ant admitting: ‘She had a boyfriend – I forgot about that’.

Katie was in a relationship with Scott Sullivan at the time, but said, “I know he’s not the one,” after breaking up with Pete.

Recalling the public interest in Katie and Peter’s romance, Ant said, “People like a romance, they like a love story and it developed as the series progressed.”

Katie had several failed marriages but believes Carl Woods, former Love Island star, is the one.

Last month, Peter and Katie’s kids Princess and Junior revealed that they want to follow in their parents’ footsteps by going on I’m A Celebrity.

Despite Junior embarking on a music career and his sister still in school, they joked that they “came from the jungle” and hope they get a chance to be on the hit show.

Junior told Subway: ‘I think we should do that! To represent! We came from the jungle, didn’t we?’ while Princess added, ‘That’s something I really want to do. It would actually be good to continue there, knowing that both our parents were there, that’s how they got to know each other.’

Junior added: “And the show is so great, it’s been going on for so long, so to be able to do that would actually be a really big achievement.”
