Peter Andre had a nervous breakdown in the 1990s at the height of his pop star fame.
The singer, now 50, sought psychiatric help at age 25 after descending into a “haze of nightclubs and groupies,” before spending six years in psychiatric wards and on medication.
While the Mysterious Girl hitmaker insists he never touched drugs during the hedonistic days of his youth, he admits that he lost himself while having “lots of casual sex.”
Reality star Peter said his shirtless pose and “arrogance” were all part of it as he sought external validation and acceptance.
He claims that to this day he still suffers from brain fog panic attacks after his poor mental health in the past, developing agoraphobia – a fear of going out – and vertigo.

“I don’t like who I became when I only hung out with girls and didn’t care. I just went for a tangent.’
After his breakdown, Peter returned to his childhood home in Australia before going into hiding in America.
He insists that he is a completely different person today, and that he is much more humble and calm, and blames his arrogance when he was younger on “just a self-defense mechanism.”
“In the 1990s guys thought, ‘Are you looking at my girl? and all that. But now I am not threatening in any way, shape or form,” he said.
Peter’s star rose again in 2004 when he appeared in the ITV jungle reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, where he met his ex-wife Katie Price.
The entertainer has had a successful career in show business that has spanned more than 30 years after first signing a record deal at the age of 16.
And he insists it’s his “friendliness” and “great team” that helped him stay in the game for so long.

“Being nice in this industry and getting along with people doesn’t mean you won’t fall. But if you try to get up, someone will reach out and help you because of how nice you’ve been,” he explained.
Peter first rose to fame in 1989, when he took part in an Australian talent show called New Faces at the age of 16.
As a result, he was offered a recording contract.
Peter was then sent to the UK where he recorded his debut single Drive Me Crazy and his breakthrough hit Gimme Little Sign.
