Peter Andre gushes over wife Emily but admits she’s a ‘very strict mum’
Peter Andre gushed about his wife Emily but admitted she is a ‘very strict mother’ as he gave a candid new interview to The times on Sunday.
The singer, 50, praised her for being “smart and sensible and organized” and for “bringing out the simple part of him again” after a frenzy of fame.
During the chat, he also talked about his troubled childhood and growing up with parents who are Jehovah’s Witnesses – revealing that the only book he had to read as a child was the Bible.
Of Emily, he said, “She’s smart and sensible and organized, and she makes me see things very differently.
“She made me the way I was when I was very young. I sort of went into this crazy life from my late teens to 40s and then all of a sudden she brought out the simple part of me.”

But he added that she is a very strict mother and the children are not allowed to have screen time at home except on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Peter shares children Princess, 15, and Junior, 17, with ex-wife Katie Price, while he has children Amelia, nine, and Theo, six, with Emily.
At home, their dining room table is a “no-phones zone” and a one-screen policy is enforced when the family goes to watch TV together.
Peter joked that his older children rolled their eyes a lot about the phone policy when they spent time with him at the Surrey house.
During the chat to promote his new children’s book, he opened up about having parents who are Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Until he was 16, Andre went to church five days a week and knocked at the door, when the only book allowed in his house was the Bible.
He explained that because of his upbringing, he was bullied a lot growing up and when he rebelled against it all as a “crazy” twenties after being denied so many life experiences.
He added that even now he keeps things from his parents to protect them.

Peter explained, “Mama is very, very, very pious, so there will always be a sense of guilt. It’s my mom and I love her so much, and if you love her, why not give her what she wants? So it’s hard.’
It comes after Peter revealed last year that he never celebrated Christmas until he became a father because he was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness.
Peter revealed to The mirror he experienced Christmas for the first time after becoming a father for the first time in 2005.
The television personality grew up in Australia with his father Savvas and mother Thea, whom he has described as “devout Jehovah’s Witnesses and very strict Christians.”
Witnesses do not celebrate Christmas or Easter because they believe these festivals are based on (or heavily contaminated with) pagan customs and religions.
He told the publication: “I grew up in a strict family of Jehovah’s Witnesses. We didn’t celebrate birthdays or Christmas or anything like that.’
Peter said that although he is no longer a part of the faith, he still respected everything he had learned during his childhood.
Then say, “But one of the things a lot of people say is, ‘Do you feel like you missed out’ and I say, ‘Well, you don’t know any different’.”
“But now that the kids are going through it, I’m experiencing it through them and it’s wonderful.”
Admitting that it might be ‘even more special’ now because he and his offspring are experiencing things for the first time.
It comes after Peter’s wife Emily recently gushed that her marriage is “stronger than ever” despite the singer being away from home for months.
The NHS doctor, who tied the knot with Peter in 2015, revealed that the couple don’t always get to spend much quality time together due to their busy schedules.
However, the mother-of-two admitted that they put extra effort into date nights when they reunite because distance isn’t the issue.
She said The sun: ‘We always make time for each other, we just keep going.
“He hasn’t been this busy in years, it’s crazy. He does a lot of different things and one thing after another – he finishes one thing and then there’s something else.’
The couple recently celebrated the Mysterious Girl singer’s 50th birthday on a lavish getaway to Dubai, spending one week alone and the second with their kids.
Emily said she’s planning another “night out together” at some point because that’s all her husband asked for for his birthday.
The doctor admitted she struggles to fit it into his work schedule as he only has “three Saturdays off from now until August.”

Emily revealed that her marriage has gone from strength to strength over the years and the couple hasn’t learned how to adjust to their crazy lifestyle.
The beauty also admitted that she is sweet when she goes to bed and Peter is at work.
She said, “I always miss him when he’s gone. When he’s not there, I literally leave his side of the bed completely untouched – the pillows are still there, so at night I almost feel like he’s still there. I literally just sleep in a straight line.’
Peter and Emily married in 2015 in a lavish ceremony at Mamhead House in Exeter.
