The 36-year-old TOWIE star, a fan favourite, was spotted exhausted with his head in his hands after a ten-hour broadcast.

Pete, who says he’s really enjoyed the experience so far, appeared to struggle with the choreography ahead of the first live show on Saturday and was spotted taking a break with his dance partner Jowita Przystal, 30.

A photo showed Pete, dressed in a simple white vest, rubbing his eyes as he took a moment to rest.

The duo will dance the Paso Doble to The Prodigy’s Firestarter during Saturday’s show.

The day before, Pete and Strictly pro Jowita appeared to hit it off and were spotted putting on a passionate show during rehearsals for their first dance on Thursday.

The professional dancer was seen with her hand in Pete’s hair as they embraced during the session.

After the rehearsal, the couple was seen leaving the dance studio with their accompanist.

Jowita has undoubtedly expressed her support for Pete.

The BBC has introduced new guidelines following a series of scandals and allegations of bullying.

This year, to mark Strictly’s 20th anniversary, the show has introduced a number of new anti-bullying rules.

New measures were introduced after the BBC was forced to conduct a misconduct investigation when actress Amanda Abbington unexpectedly quit the show last October.

Months later, professional dancer Graziano was fired after BBC staff revealed they had seen footage of him “kicking” his celebrity partner Zara McDermott.

That’s why the BBC has brought in counselors to keep an eye on the couples for the upcoming series, and it has now emerged that they have been instructed to report any unusual events to a helpful person.

A source said The sun: ‘They’ve been told to capture positive moments during rehearsals, and anything that could be questioned.

However, it has been stressed that they should call the helpline immediately if anything bad happens so that any wrongdoing is addressed promptly.

‘The protocol will also require the researchers to move between different training rooms so they don’t become too friendly with professional dancers and celebrities.’

It was also announced that the BBC will introduce stricter rules for couples who rehearse outside of permitted training times.

Producers are implementing a weekly limit on practice hours, meaning celebrities and their professional dancers are allowed to practice for a maximum of 48 hours per week.

The limit was reportedly introduced last year to create a level playing field for couples, and amounts to an average of eight hours per day, with Sunday as a day off.

A source said The sun: The celebrities have been told to adhere to the salary cap.

‘They are all extremely competitive and eager to perform well.

“But bosses want to make sure everyone gets a fair chance, so they set the rules.”

Under the new rules, Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood has revealed he was “beaten with a stick” when he was training as a dancer as a “corrective measure”, but he is “stunned” by the Strictly abuse scandal.

The 59-year-old judge, who has been involved with the show since its inception, was a guest on BBC Breakfast on Wednesday ahead of the 20th series.

‘Of course I found out through the press, because the jury members sit separately from the candidates.

“The only time we see each other is when we go to the studio in passing, so you don’t really get a chance to know what’s going on in the rehearsal room. That’s not part of our job.”

Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty, 49, asked: ‘Have you ever thought about how you train? I mean, you’ve obviously danced and that relationship…’

Craig shared that when he was training as a young dancer, his teacher would “hit us with a stick” as a form of correction.

“I know how I’m trained and it was tough,” he admitted. “I had a Russian ballet teacher who had a stick and she would hit us with it. Just so you don’t pull up from your thigh – like doing a deboules to use your hamstrings.

“I mean, that kind of education wouldn’t be available today, of course. Things have changed and come a long way in the 40 years since I went through the program.”
