Pete Davidson ‘told audience he is using ketamine to treat his depression’ at comedy gig… months after rehab stint for mental health issues
Pete Davidson is said to have “told the audience during his comedy performance that he uses ketamine.”
The 29-year-old actor and prankster reportedly said this while taking the stage Saturday night at New York City’s Madison Square Garden as he warmed the audience to Dave Chappelle, according to Page six insiders.
The outlet also asked a friend of his if he was on ketamine, and the unnamed friend confirmed he was.
Ketamine is an anesthetic that induces a state of sedation and is approved as a medical product, according to the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
It is approved as a medical product for use as a short-acting anesthetic via an injectable (both in humans and animals) and also for the treatment of drug-resistant depression administered via nasal spray, the DEA said.
Pete uses “ketamine by nasal spray” β which is used when typical drugs prescribed for depression no longer work, the Page Six source said.

Ketamine, also called Special K, is called a “dissociative anesthetic hallucinogen” according to the DEA because it makes the person feel detached from their environment and pain.

βI’m always depressed, all the time. I constantly have to get myself out of it,” the actor said.
βI wake up depressed, but now I know my steps. I need to get out and get some sun, or take a walk. It’s all just programming yourself to fool your brain,β Pete continued.

The outlet reported that the comedian suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and borderline personality disorder.
