Pete Davidson makes a cameo appearance as a hacker in the action-adventure movie Fast X… eight years after he joked about the death of series star Paul Walker

Pete Davidson made a cameo in the action-adventure film Fast X, which made its debut Friday.

According to Screen Rantthe 29-year-old comedian portrayed a hacker named Bowie in the highly anticipated film, which also starred long-time franchise stars Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez.

The artist, who recently bumped into his ex at the Met Gala, wasn’t the only entertainment industry figure to make a cameo in the feature film, as he was also joined by Disney Channel’s Debby Ryan and drummer Josh Dun.

Davidson’s character initially comes into contact with the Toretto crew when they try to enlist his hacking services, as he previously worked with fellow tech wizard Ramsey, played by Nathalie Emmanuel.

Although the hacker eventually tricks the team, he was not killed, leaving a possibility for a possible return to the series.

It was previously announced that Davidson had been cast in Fast X in June of last year.

Several sources have spoken The sun that same month to express that several mainstays of the Fast & Furious franchise were wary of the casting, however.

The comedian had previously joked about the death of former series star Paul Walker during Justin Bieber’s Comedy Central Roast, which took place in 2015.

The late actor passed away in 2013 at the age of 40 after being involved in a single-vehicle hit-and-run that happened in Santa Clarita, California.

While toasting the pop star, the artist referenced one of his previous arrests, saying, “This past year, Justin got arrested for drag racing…unfortunately it wasn’t with Paul Walker.”

Davidson added, “What? He’s doing great! There’s a movie coming out!’

The gag was subsequently removed from the US broadcast of the event.

According to The Sun, a source said “a backlash behind the scenes” began when the Saturday Night Live alumnus signed on to appear in the feature film.
