Callum and Jake Robinson: Woman arrested in the desperate search for two Perth brothers missing in Mexico
A woman has reportedly been arrested during the search for two missing brothers from Perth, Mexico, who were unable to return to their Airbnb after a surfing trip.
Jake and Callum Robinson are missing in the Baja California region, near Ensenada, on the northwest coast of Mexico.
After regularly sharing posts on social media about the first two days of their trip, they made no contact for four days.
Mexican media have reported that authorities tracked down the woman after she turned on a cell phone belonging to one of the brothers.
Authorities also found drugs on the woman when she was arrested, Nine News reported.
Earlier, the couple’s mother, Debra Robinson, issued an urgent appeal for help finding her sons, who she has not heard from since last Saturday.

“I want to reach out to everyone who saw my two sons,” Mrs. Robinson wrote on Facebook.
“They are traveling with another friend, a US citizen.
“They were supposed to book an Airbnb in Rosarito after their camping weekend, but they didn’t show up.”
Mrs. Robinson posted a photo saying her sons were missing Saturday morning in the Rosarito and Ensenada region of Baja California.
Rosarito is a coastal city in Baja California, Mexico and is located about an hour’s drive north of Ensenada and a 45-minute drive south of the US city of San Diego.
It said they were driving a Chevrolet Colorado with California license plate 70189W1.
Mrs Robinson said there was a medical problem as Callum has type 1 diabetes.
She asked anyone who had seen her sons or knew where they were to contact her.
Lacrosse Australia has released a statement on social media expressing concern about the whereabouts of Jake, Callum and their friend, Jack Carter Rhoad.
It described Callum as an ‘Australian lacrosse star’.

‘We urge the Australian lacrosse community and our global lacrosse family to continue sharing the message from Callum’s friends and family (found on LA’s Facebook and Instagram story) in the hope that Callum, Jake and Jack stay safe and are found,” the statement said. .
‘Our thoughts are with the families and friends of the Callum, Jake and Jack at this incredibly stressful time.’

WA Premier Roger Cook said the situation was “very concerning”.
“When we send our young men and women abroad to enjoy that adventure holiday, they bring with them an element of risk and that is really quite worrying,” he told reporters.
“I understand that one of the individuals has a medical condition that requires ongoing care, so I share the concerns of all Western Australians in terms of their well-being.”
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed they were helping the family.
“The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing consular assistance to the family of two Australians reported missing in Mexico,” a spokesperson said.
‘Due to our privacy obligations, we are unable to comment further.’
