Australian bathers at a popular beach were shocked to see a man pulling a shark into the ocean by its tail.
The intrepid man was seen grabbing the shark’s tail with both hands and slowly backing into the waves at White Hills Beach in Bouvard, south Perth, on Thursday.
The reef shark, which appeared to be about two meters long, thrashed about, and as the water got deeper, the man had to crouch down and hold onto the shark’s dorsal fin to prevent it from attacking him.
Passers-by said the shark was accidentally caught by people fishing on the beach.
It comes after a pair of swimmers were forced out of the water after being stalked by two sharks off a southwestern Washington beach.
The sharks were seen by bathers 30 meters offshore at Gnarabup Beach at around 12:40 pm and again by diners at a beachfront cafe.
A total of 25 sharks were sighted offshore WA on Thursday, including great whites.
A 16-foot monster was spotted from the sand at Bunbury Beach, just an hour’s drive south of White Hills Beach.

Jane Wishaw said she was about to go into the water when she saw two sharks lurking in the shallows.
“I was completely gobsmacked when the sharks literally appeared out of nowhere as I was standing in calf deep water about to dive in and swim out to deeper water and set off for the point,” she said. perth now.
