Perth fashion influencer reveals how a nightmare plane flight triggered her bizarre phobia: ‘It smelled so bad I was literally crying’

Perth fashion influencer Jacquie Alexander opens up about the nightmare flight that left her in tears and gasping for breath.

The 31-year-old told how a recent trip took a nasty turn when her plane had to abort a landing due to high winds.

After a child sitting next to her became nauseous due to turbulence, Alexander struggled with her own emetophobia, a phobia of vomiting and the fear of seeing others throw up.

In a video on her Instagram Stories, the entrepreneur can be seen moving back and forth in her chair, pinching her nose and gasping for breath.

“This was my first failed landing attempt and I went into a tailspin,” she began in the caption.

‘And as if things couldn’t get any worse, the kid behind me was also vomiting incessantly because of the turbulence.

‘It stank so bad I literally had to cry, my emetophobia was screaming.’

Alexander also praised the crew in her message.

The 31-year-old revealed how a recent trip turned ugly when her plane had to abort a landing due to high winds. After turbulence sickened a child sitting next to her, Alexander had to battle her own emetophobia, a phobia of vomiting and seeing others throw up.

“Honestly, that experience made me realize what a plane can do. We were about to land and flew straight back up, no problem!” she continued.

‘If we learn anything from this, it is how impressive these planes are and how well the pilots can handle everything.’

Alexander runs her own fashion brand called In My Moods, which she co-owns with her hockey player boyfriend Nathan Ephraum.

Her latest post came months after she was criticised in September for being “embarrassing” and “giving all Australians a bad name” on the London Underground.

While on holiday in the English capital, Jacquie shared a video of herself waving her hair and lip-syncing to the viral track ‘Prada’ by CASSO, D-Block Europe and Ray.

The short clip showed the digital creator dancing through a crowded subway train, receiving irritated looks from fellow passengers.

“I’m in my ‘I don’t care’ era,” she captioned the video, blithely oblivious to how her actions were a burden to others. “The confidence this gives me is unmatched.”

Alexander quickly admitted that she was “shaking” with fear immediately after filming stopped. But that didn’t stop the thousands of people who criticized her “unpleasant” behavior.

Many called her self-centered and asked her never to do such a thing again.

“The narcissism of this generation is out of this world. Stop,” one woman wrote.

“This is so embarrassing and narcissistic,” agreed another.

“Just stop trying to be the main character,” said a third. “This is so embarrassing.”
