A grieving father grieving the loss of his young son who tragically drowned in a neighbor’s backyard pool has issued an emotional plea for everyone to maintain pool fences and learn CPR.

Isaac Powell, 3, was playing in his new home in Canning Vale, Perth, last Thursday when he slipped through a gap in the fence and into a neighbour’s backyard.

His mother Zahra, in despair, noticed the boy was missing and searched the nearby streets for 15 minutes before the children found Isaac dead in the neighbor’s pool.

She performed CPR until paramedics arrived, who rushed him to Perth Children’s Hospital.

Isaac was on life support for five days before his parents made the heartbreaking decision to turn him off on Monday.

Heartbroken father Stephen Powell held back tears as he paid tribute to his beautiful son and revealed that they had moved to the area days before.

Isaac Powell was found dead in a neighbor’s backyard pool. His parents have made the heartbreaking decision to disconnect him from life support.

“He was playing in the backyard and managed to find a hole in the fence,” he told Nine News.

‘She’s gone to our neighbor’s house, I haven’t even met them yet, I don’t know them at all… and she fell in their pool.

“He is at peace now and we have to take comfort in that.”

He delivered a powerful message to all pool owners.

“If you have a pool, keep your fences and the people who found it didn’t know CPR,” Powell said.

“I’m not saying it could have saved him, but it’s better than just doing nothing.”

Powell described his youngest son as full of energy with a cheeky giggle.

“He was the cutest kid, you wouldn’t see him without a car in his hand,” she said.

He will have some cars when he leaves.

Issac’s aunt Ummu Bakri revealed the tragedy that unfolded on his mother’s birthday.

“I don’t think time will heal, as every birthday you will have a memory of your son’s death,” he said.

Ms. Bakri also revealed that her sister was setting up for a family gathering at the new house when Isaac went missing.

“Setting up the new house, he realized that his three-year-old son was missing,” he posed.

‘Searching around the house and backyard, he couldn’t find it. All he could think was that maybe he had managed to open the side door of the garage and escaped into the street.

Isaac Powell has been remembered as a beautiful, lively boy who loved his toy cars.

The tragedy followed a series of drownings in Australia during the Christmas and New Year holiday season.

A online fundraising created by friends has already raised over $31,000 in 24 hours for Isaac’s family.

‘Nobody imagines that they will lose a child and plans to save money for this occasion. So this page is here for anyone who is in a position that can or wants to help fund this,’ she states.

‘I know Stephen and Zahra would be forever grateful, but certainly not expecting anything. Let’s come together as a community to help and support Stephen and Zahra as they go through their grief and try to form some semblance of life after this devastating loss.

“Any donation, however small, will help his family with their expenses during this difficult time.”
