Perth dentist Farzem Mehrabi who spiked drinks and raped women he met through Tinder and Bumble discovers his fate

A Perth dentist who poisoned the drinks of several women he met online and then raped them has been found guilty of 24 charges.

Farzem Mehrabi, 34, met the women, aged 18 to 24, on Tinder and Bumble and invited them to go clubbing in the Western Australian capital for two months in 2022.

During the month-long trial, CCTV footage was shown showing Mehrabi mixing a substance into his date’s glass at one of these meetings while she was in the bathroom.

Prosecutors allege that the then third-year medical student at the University of Notre Dame laced the drinks with a cocktail of drugs including MDMA, MDA, lorazepam and methamphetamine.

Iranian-born Mehrabi, who moved to Australia as a child, also broached the subject of drug use, bragging to several women that he bought high-grade chemicals from Switzerland.

He then took the drunken women to his parents’ home in Shelly in Perth’s south and had sex with them without their consent, they said. 7 News.

Mehrabi testified that the drug use and sex were consensual, but the jury found him an unreliable witness with a history of lies, including about his age, height and whether he lived with his parents on dating apps.

A woman told the court that the next day, after just four drinks, she woke up in Mehrabi’s bed with no memory of the night. She had scratches and felt sick. She later called him to ask if he had ‘given her anything’.

He was acquitted of one charge of adding alcohol to his drink.
