Perth boy Joshua Schuetz airlifted back to Australia as he fights for is life following horror quad bike accident in Bali

A promising Futsal star remains in a ‘critical condition’ after being airlifted back to Australia following a horrific quad bike accident in Bali.

Joshua Schuetz, 8, from Perth, was on holiday with his family ahead of a football tournament he was due to participate in this weekend.

The family were on a quad biking trip when Joshua suffered serious injuries in the ‘most unimaginable accident’ on Wednesday.

He was a passenger on a bicycle driven by his older brother when it overturned.

Joshua became trapped under the bicycle and had to be freed by his brother.

He suffered a skull fracture and a brain hemorrhage and is still in a coma in intensive care.

He is said to have arrived in Perth from Bali on Saturday, two days after the accident.

A spokesperson for the Child and Adolescent Health Care Service told AAP that a patient at Perth Children’s Hospital is “in a critical condition”.

His parents had to pay $20,000 on the spot before Joshua could be transferred to an intensive care unit at another hospital to be treated by a neurosurgeon.

Family friend Bernice Ariasa has a fundraising for the family to cover medical costs in Bali and help finance a Medivac flight to fly Joshua home.

“They had to post another $10,000 bond for a blood transfusion,” she wrote.

“So far the bill is $60,000, but he is there in the hospital (every) hour.

‘(Jozua) has undergone surgery and the costs are unknown, his condition is stable but is in a coma.

A team of Australian doctors and nurses are on their way to transport Joshua to Perth Children’s Hospital.

More than $65,000 has been raised.

‘Hundreds of prayers are about our sweet, funny, full of life Joshy. We just want him to be safe and healed,” the page ended.
