A Perth influencer has questioned supermarket etiquette when it comes to eating a bag of crisps while shopping.

Lauren ‘Loz’ Curtis, who has amassed a whopping 1.1 million Instagram followers, popped the question in a short clip.

“Here’s a divisive question for you,” she began.

“If you’re in a mall and you’re hungry and you take a bag of chips off the shelf that you haven’t paid for, can you open it and eat it before you’ve paid for it?”

The extremely simple question prompted a slew of responses, with most followers telling them to wait until they got past the checkout line.

“I understand why people do it but for me personally I’d rather starve than risk getting yelled at for opening them before I pay lol,” she said.

‘Hahahaha used to work at Woolworths. Can guarantee the workers don’t get paid enough to care as long as you pay at the end you’re good eat your chips hahaha,” another wrote.

‘I only do it with water. I feel like everything else can wait until you get in the car/house,” added another.

“I don’t think this is divisive at all! It’s a definite YES! You’re still paying for it!!’ they said.

“Of course, as long as you pay for it at the checkout, that shopping hunger is real,” added another.
