Tragedy as woman drowns at Shelly Beach on Sydney’s Northern Beaches
A woman has drowned at a popular beach on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Police and paramedics rushed to Shelly Beach in Manly at around 10am on Friday after reports of welfare concerns.
Despite frantic efforts to revive the 63-year-old woman, she died at the scene.
“On arrival, officers from the Northern Beaches Police Area Command were advised that a 63-year-old woman had been found unconscious in the water,” police said.
A report will be prepared for the coroner and the investigation will continue.
Shelly Beach is popular with tourists and locals alike for swimming and snorkeling.
