Perfect Jared Goff makes NFL history in Lions’ victory over Seattle
Jared Goff threw a perfect game and set an NFL record by completing all 18 passes to help the Detroit Lions beat the Seattle Seahawks 42-29 on Monday night.
“It’s good if the ball doesn’t touch the ground… I was trying to remember if I had an incompletion and I couldn’t quite tell, but I knew I had a chance,” Goff said when asked if he was aware of it during the match. he was on course to make history.
Goff also had a touchdown reception for the first time in his career, catching a pass from Amon-Ra St Brown and throwing one of his two touchdown passes to the All-Pro receiver. Goff and St Brown are the eighth duo in league history to throw and catch a touchdown from each other. St Brown threw a seven-yard pass to Goff on a trick play in the third quarter and caught an eight-yard touchdown from its quarterback in the fourth.
Goff, who threw for 292 yards, completed his first 14 passes in Detroit’s previous win at Arizona, setting a personal record that lasted just over a week. On Monday, he also threw a pass over the middle to Jameson Williams, who ran away from the Seahawks for a 70-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
The Seahawks (3-1) simply couldn’t overcome an injury-depleted defense that couldn’t stop Detroit on the ground or through the air.
Seattle coach Mike Macdonald went for it early in the fourth on fourth-and-4 from the Detroit 39, but receiver Tyler Lockett negated a first down with pass interference and was called for running a pick play that Jaxon Smith -Njigba cleared for a catch. . Macdonald went for it again on fourth down from the Detroit three-yard line with 2:09 to go, but Geno Smith threw a fourth straight incompletion.

His teammate David Montgomery started the scoring barrage with a one-yard touchdown run, capping a 10-play, 93-yard drive that took up more than seven minutes of the clock in the first quarter and was 80 yards away of a scrimmage.
Smith was 38 of 56 for 395 yards with a nine-yard touchdown pass to rookie tight end AJ Barner in the third quarter on a drive he extended with a sneak on fourth down. He threw an interception in the end zone to Kerby Joseph with a minute left, sealing Seattle’s first loss this season.

Tennessee Titans 31-12 Miami Dolphins
Mason Rudolph led seven scoring drives after starter Will Levis left with a shoulder injury, and the Tennessee Titans defeated the Miami Dolphins 31-12 in Monday’s other game.

Tyler Huntley, who signed with the Dolphins from Baltimore’s practice squad on September 17, ran for a touchdown and had 96 passing yards. But the Dolphins offense continued to struggle without Tua Tagovailoa, who remains on injured reserve with a concussion.
Huntley was named the starter on Saturday after No. 2 quarterback Skylar Thompson suffered a rib injury.
Huntley brought the Dolphins (1-3) within 10 when he scored on a one-yard run with 3:40 remaining. He was intercepted on the two-point conversion attempt and the Titans recovered the ensuing onside kick. Huntley was called for intentional grounding in the end zone during Miami’s final comeback attempt, which scored two more points for the Titans.
The Dolphins have not led any games this season. Their only win came in the opener on a walk-off field goal by Jason Sanders.
