Pep Guardiola praises ‘exceptional’ Erik ten Hag and labels Manchester FA Cup final ‘special’ before revealing Jack Grealish and Kevin de Bruyne WILL return to squad

Pep Guardiola described Erik ten Hag as an ‘exceptional manager’ and labeled Saturday’s Manchester FA Cup final as ‘special’ before revealing that Jack Grealish and Kevin de Bruyne will be fit for the game.

The two Manchester sides will face each other at Wembley on Saturday afternoon, with Guardiola’s side looking to move one step closer to securing the historic treble.

Manchester City are chasing a historic Treble, with the first of two showpieces against rivals Manchester United at Wembley.

In his pre-match press conference, Guardiola confirmed that both Grealish and De Bruyne will be fit to play on Saturday afternoon. He said: “They have been training well for the past two practices. They are more or less good.

When asked how he prepared for the Cup final as it will be crucial to their chances of securing the treble, Guardiola said: ‘It’s the FA Cup final and it’s a pleasure to be here. It’s a final, so nothing else.

“It should be good for us if we have to think about what we need to do to win one game – it doesn’t change the analysis of the strengths of our opponents and the weaknesses they have. It’s a football match, we have no control over what happens outside.’

He continued: “A final is special to itself, but United from the last four, five six months is a completely different team. Now I feel like it’s different from the beginning of the season and they’ve improved. It’s United, so the qualities of the players have always been there.’

Guardiola went on to discuss the threat posed by Manchester United star Casemiro. He said: “I don’t know him personally, but when he was in Madrid I had information about how professional he is. I was convinced he wouldn’t come here for a holiday during the last years of his career.’
