Can Pep Guardiola walk away from Man City if they win the Treble? Boss hesitates and says ‘ask me about that’ while being asked if he QUIT if they win all three trophies this season
- The Man City boss remained coy as he discussed his future at the club
- Guardiola’s side has the potential to record a historic treble season
- There have been suggestions that he could leave the club if they do
Pep Guardiola has hinted he could leave Manchester City if they win the treble this season after being quizzed about this in an interview.
Guardiola’s side could have a historic campaign if they can triumph in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup this season.
They are currently at the top of the top flight and are in the finals of the other two competitions, giving them a strong chance of winning all three tournaments.
If they did, his City side would become the second England team – in the men’s game – to complete the treble, following Manchester United’s 1998-99 success.
It would put the Spaniard in a position where there is little left to achieve at the club and when it was suggested to him he told reporters to ask him ‘after’ they completed the treble.

In an interview with Sky SportsGuardiola said: ‘First we have to win. [Then] you can ask me later and I’ll tell you how I feel and how I think.’
The City boss was then asked if the matter had occurred to him in any way. He replied: ‘Of course we are three games away and need every league to do it. [But] Are you going to tell me our city rivals, Man United, will be an easy game?’
City will face Manchester United in the FA Cup final on June 3 and Serie A side Inter Milan in the Champions League final on June 10.
“What happens against an Italian team that doesn’t feel favored?” he continued. ‘I’m thinking about that. And if we succeed after that, I’ll tell you, of course.’
Guardiola’s side could clinch the Premier League title on Sunday afternoon if they manage to beat Chelsea. The title could be secured a day early if Arsenal lose in their trip to Nottingham Forest.
It would be City’s fifth Premier League title in the past six seasons, marking their dominance over half a decade of top-flight football.

However, Guardiola failed to win the Champions League during his time at Man City and some have suggested he might leave the club after achieving that.
They are regarded as firm favorites for their clash with Inter Milan next month, following dominant performances against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the previous rounds.
They stormed past Spain’s Madrid on Tuesday night to secure a 4-0 victory in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final.
A brace from Bernardo Silva plus goals from Manuel Akanji and Julian Alvarez capped off the night’s dominant victory over the reigning European champions.
