People Stunned As Optical Illusion-Like Pattern Appears In Sky Where People Can See Seven Suns

A stunning video of seven suns recorded in a Chinese hospital has captured global attention and left viewers stunned.

A woman was watching the sun set and was filming when something spectacular happened: the photo showed more than one sun in the sky.

The video, however, lasted only a minute and seemed like a cosmic wonder, but in reality it was an optical illusion created by the glass window through which the video was filmed.

The phenomenon was caused by light being refracted through the laminated glass of the window.

A woman in China took a picture of what looked like seven suns in the sky. The picture was taken by refracted light through the diamond-shaped window

The video was recorded on August 18 on the 11th floor of a hospital in Chengdu, China, southwest of Sichuan. It shows the sun shining, but with different intensities.

The woman who allegedly made the video, Wang, said viewers were mesmerized by the surreal spectacle, Jam Press reported. Many have offered theories about how the phenomenon came about.

“This happened due to a disturbance in the magnetic field, causing parallel universes to become visible,” someone wrote on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.

“The Cosmic Bureau has resolved the problem and those responsible have been reprimanded,” they added.

Others on Reddit claimed the fragmented suns were a sign of “massive pollution” in China, with someone else writing: “The truth about global warming has finally been revealed.

Meanwhile, someone joked, “Will the real Sun Shady please stand up?” a nod to rapper Eminem’s famous hit “The Real Slim Shady.”

However, one commenter did correctly answer the question of how a video showed seven suns, writing: ‘This is caused by the reflection/refraction in glass in a multi-pane window. Light from the sun bounces between the layers, making the reflections clearly visually separated.’

It can be compared to the reflection in a mirror: the light is refracted and reflected by the layered glass, with each layer creating a new copy of the image.

Except for the brightest sun in the center, which is the real sun, the other suns are part of the optical illusion.

Although there is a scientific explanation for the seven suns, some people still believe that the spectacle falls under the story of Hou Yi.

In Chinese mythology, Hou Yi was depicted as the god of archery, who was sent from heaven to help humanity.

It is said that he stopped ten suns from burning the earth and then shot them down with his magical bow and arrow.

The Tenth Sun begged for her life and agreed to separate the day from the night as punishment for her attempt to burn the earth.
