He added, βIt made me wonder if I’m the stranger who butters both slices, or if I’m normal and she’s the freak. I also think that, as I only realized after a year, maybe the second slice just doesn’t need butter.
‘My life has been turned upside down because of this! What strange and wonderful things does your partner do that you find strange?’
The after prompted more than 1,400 people to eagerly share their partner’s quirks, including one who detailed their partner’s tight dinner schedule.
They wrote: ‘Refuses to drink his tea until after 10pm. I eat earlier, and often I cook and sometimes serve his food on a plate, and he leaves it until 10 p.m.’
βIf I serve it to him at 9:45 p.m., he waits until after 10 p.m. When I ask about it, or ask him to try eating earlier, he just says, “I’ll eat when I’m ready.”
Another commenter described their partner’s selective potato chip eating habits, writing, “When she eats a bag of chips, she only eats the large, full chips, not the smaller pieces at the bottom.”
‘And that’s not just the little crumbs, she won’t touch anything smaller than about a 50 cent coin. She used to just throw it away, but now we work together and I finish the job.β
One user shared a particularly bizarre habit involving an air fryer: βHe just bought an air fryer that makes whole chicken on the rotisserie. He has it set up in his living room so he can watch the chicken turning and cooking in it.β

Some habits were downright confusing, such as the way one partner handles milk bottles, while the other half writes: ‘When she opens a milk bottle (plastic), she pulls off the silver seal and then presses it into the cap: ‘To to keep milk fresh longer…”‘
Another highlighted their partner’s linguistic idiosyncrasies, writing, “Among other things, the woman says ‘about’ instead of ‘over.’
Meanwhile, another said: ‘The man leaves every drawer and cupboard open when he cooks. And the refrigerator. He has an inability to close cupboards, even though he bangs his head on them endlessly and swears. Also puts tea bags in the sink. Why?’
