People say I dress ‘inappropriately’ because I like to wear miniskirts when I’m 60 – but I want to inspire other women over 50 to wear whatever they want
A 60-year-old woman who has been told she dresses “inappropriately” because she likes to wear miniskirts says “you can be sexy” because it’s “about your style, not your age.”
Roslyn Griner, from Montreal, Canada, always likes to keep up with the latest trends and dons miniskirts, sheer tops and cargo pants.
The marketer “keeps young” by going to the gym five to six times a week and now hopes to inspire other women over 50 to “wear what they want.”
Roslyn inherited her love of fashion from her late mother, Sabina, 83, a seamstress, who would make her stylish clothes to wear.
Roslyn said, “People say I dress inappropriately, but it’s about your style, not your age.

“We become this invisible minority when we reach a certain age and are known as mothers and grandmothers.
“But you can be sexy and all that stuff.” You don’t lose the joy of life.
“I want to inspire women that you don’t have to stop dressing a certain way just because you’re 50 or 60.”
Roslyn – who has never been married and never had children – began sharing herself with “a timeless lifestyle” after she lost her marketing job in August 2022.
She said, “I show how I like to dress. I wear miniskirts – I like my legs so I’m going to show them off.”
She likes to listen to modern music and follows the latest fashion trends.
Roslyn said, ‘I like current music, it helps you stay youthful. I’ve always been a fashionista.

“I like cargo pants. And sheer tops – they’re having a moment. I like a miniskirt and an oversized blazer.’
But Roslyn faces negative comments saying her outfits aren’t “appropriate” for her age.
She said: ‘My style of dress is not for everyone. But I won’t go into the negative comments anymore.
‘You can be conservative at thirty or trendy at fifty. I show young girls that getting older isn’t scary. It’s cool to be my age.’
Roslyn hasn’t always been as confident as she is now and admits to feeling insecure about her looks in her twenties.

She said, “I didn’t get into myself until I was in my late thirties. In my twenties I was super shy and didn’t feel attractive.
“I feel like I’m a lot more confident now. As you walk the path of life, you care less about everyone’s opinion.’
Roslyn likes to “live in the present” and stay young by taking care of herself.
She works out five to six times a week and eats a healthy diet, but admits to getting Botox.
She said, “I’m transparent and have had botox. Exercise keeps me ageless. I never feel that I am old.
“I’m not creaky, I’m dynamic. I live in the present.’
