People left baffled by woman’s cost-of-living radiator tea ‘hack’: ‘Stick to the kettle!’

Tea-loving Brits are left unimpressed after a woman shared her cheap ‘hack’ for making a cup of tea – using the radiator.

Mum-of-two Whitney Aincough, from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, revealed her trick for making the concoction on social media; but she hasn’t convinced anyone with her method.

The 30-year-old filled her mug with cold water, dropped her tea bag into it with four sweeteners and then placed it on the radiator.

After doing this, she walked to the heater of her house and set it to 27 degrees.

She returned to the concoction 30 minutes later and claimed it was then ready to be prepared with a splash of milk.

Whitney also suggested leaving your freshly brewed tea on the radiator so it stays warm all day.

In the clip she said: ‘Come and have a cup of tea with me on the radiator, get your cold water, tea bag, four sweeteners and this goes on the radiator… then we’ll get back to it in a minute.

‘This is really warm, you see, the right time to put some milk in, as you normally would… it’s dissolved very well.

‘You know what to say, that was made on the radiator, that’s really good.

‘So when you get up in the morning, turn on your radiators, get your cup ready, then come back to it, after half an hour you’ve made a cup of team.

Despite being considered a hack, the average cost of using a radiator for half an hour in Britain is significantly more expensive than boiling the kettle.

The average price for a home in Britain to use central heating for half an hour is £0.72, while a kettle costs just £0.01 to boil.
