Penthouse used as Roman Roy’s Succession home with views of Central Park on market for $38 million

The penthouse apartment that serves as Roman Roy’s on-screen home on HBO’s Succession has hit the market for a whopping $38 million.

Made famous in the final season of the HBO show, the apartment served as Roman Roy’s latest residence as he plots his way to grandeur.

Roman Roy’s spacious four-bedroom, 4½-bathroom Upper West Side duplex is actually located on the 49th and 50th floors of 200 Amsterdam Avenue, the tallest building in the area.

The building was previously criticized even before it was built after its planned height did not suit the neighborhood.

A judge ordered the developer, SJP Properties, to remove 20 stories from the top of the 52-story building, arguing that it violated zoning laws.

Roman Roy, played by Kieran Culkin, is the third oldest son of fictional media mogul Logan Roy, played by Brian Cox.

Succession tells the story of Logan Roy’s children and their struggle for control of Waystar RoyCo, the global media giant, which faces an uncertain future due to the founder’s ill health.

Kieran’s co-star, actor Jeremy Strong said in an interview with OW last year that the posh apartments each of the siblings live in were “necessary” to showcase just how wealthy the characters on the show are.

“I think it takes the thin world that these characters live in that we’re on the show, and the show has that span and that grandeur.

“It was limited by the pandemic in terms of where we could go and what we could do, but I think they really did a good job,” he continued.

The view from the penthouse offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Hudson River, Central Park and the city skyline.

In the fourth episode of what is now the fourth and final season, Roman is seen getting ready for an event in the bathroom of the penthouse’s master bedroom.

The interior of the house was designed by Andre Mellone, founder of Studio Mellone.

The new owner reaches his home with a private elevator that opens into the vestibule.

The living room is furnished with a neutral-toned linen sofa, swivel chairs and an industrial-style desk table from which to enjoy the view.

The penthouse has floor-to-ceiling windows that provide sweeping views of the park and city skyline, along with a chef’s eat-in kitchen with sliding glass panels.

Outside of the condo, the building also comes complete with several amenities, including three floors of indoor and outdoor living space complete with a spa, saltwater pool, gym, private club, and library with a grand piano.
