The Pentagon has announced that it is awarding its cloud computing network contract to Google, Oracle, Amazon and Microsoft,
The comprehensive contract will have a total value of $9 billion over multiple phases to an estimated completion date of June 2028.
The four companies will play a role in the Joint Warfighter Cloud Capability (JWCC) – which was created to share unclassified, classified and top secret data with military personnel around the world – in a move that will revolutionize government- Trump. proposal that one company should be in charge of the project.

The Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI), initially awarded to Microsoft in 2019, was later challenged by Amazon and Oracle, both of which are part of the revised announcement.

At the time, bids were opened to all four winning companies in an effort to level the playing field, but the General Services Administration indicated at the time that only Amazon and Microsoft were able to meet the Pentagon’s demands.
Fast forward to December 2022, and Google, Oracle, Amazon and Microsoft have been awarded arguably one of the most prestigious contracts out there. Like a job reference, the support from the US Department of Defense is worth a thousand words about each of the four companies with such sensitive and confidential data at stake.
