How footy star Brian To’o will shock his teammates with a gross act just before the NRL grand final
- The Penrith winger will be a key player in the decider
- 26 year old has a very unhealthy habit before the match
While most NRL stars take their diet very seriously to stay in top shape, Penrith star Brian To’o is preparing to eat a pre-big final meal that would give his club nutritionist a heart attack.
The Panthers winger is known for his love of junk food and soft drinks and he will make no exceptions on Sunday just because a premiership is on the line when he takes on Melbourne in the NRL grand final.
To’o plans to eat a breakfast consisting of a large bowl of chips with aioli, two breakfast burgers and no less than six Coke Zeros – and his teammates will be left shaking their heads.
However, the man himself does not see what the problem is.
“People always get weirded out by my breakfast,” he said News Corp.
‘They think there’s something wrong with me, but it’s all good. It will be the same this week.”
Panthers forward Liam Martin said he would ‘die in five minutes’ if he ate the same meal before a match, and his other teammates previously joked he had the ‘worst diet in the NRL’.
“I don’t know how he’s a professional athlete,” Martin added.

“If he’s ever worried that we’re on a trip where there won’t be any Coca-Cola Zeros, he’ll bring his own.”
Halfback Nathan Cleary is also stunned by the fact that his mate can still perform at an incredibly high level despite what he puts into his body.
“His diet is the most unique I have ever seen for a rugby league player,” Cleary said.
“I’ve never seen anyone eat four cans of Coke and ten hash browns for breakfast on game day.
‘He’s succeeding and he’s still a beast on the pitch, so back him up.’
Nathan Cleary politely described To’o’s food intake as “unique”, while Panthers five-eighth Jarome Luai said he has the “worst diet in NRL history”.
To’o’s teammate Jarome Luai once put forward the theory that the winger’s unusual diet was a secret to his success.
“He’s a bit of a different breed and has come back from injury a few times, pretty bad ones too,” Luai said.
‘It’s probably what he eats. It’s the worst diet in NRL history, but it’s working for him. Chicken and cheese…full stop. That’s all I can give away.’
To’o will certainly be one of the keys to victory for Penrith after having another brilliant year for both his club and the NSW Origin side.
He was one of the team’s standouts in their run of three consecutive Grand Final wins and will certainly be the target for the Storm at the Accor Stadium.
