Penny Wong has bought a grand property worth $3.4 million in one of Adelaide’s most prestigious suburbs.
2GB presenter Ben Fordham shared the news of her purchase on Friday morning, just weeks after Anthony Albanese acquired a $4.3 million Central Coast clifftop estate.
Senator Wong’s new property includes a grand entrance, swimming pool and formal dining room, set on a 1,350 sqm plot surrounded by extensive gardens.
“Guests are ushered into the house through a wide and stately hallway, with the high ceilings of 3.69 meters signaling the grandeur that will follow everywhere,” the property listing said.
The house also features a basement room, a large open kitchen and a formal dining room.
Senator Wong’s office confirmed that she had purchased the property jointly with her wife Sophie Allouache.
“Minister Wong and her wife have bought a new family home. They are preparing to sell their current properties and that of the minister’s mother, who passed away earlier this year.”
