Hopelessly Devoted was founded by Mark Aldridge to help a small charity called Celia Hammond Animal Trust, which is in desperate financial need.

The couple are said to be desperately working on their 17-year marriage after the singer abandoned their plans to sell his $74 million Beverly Hills mansion and return to Britain.

The event came after Rod Penny promised they would pack up their Los Angeles lives for their sprawling £4million estate in Harlow, Essex, after revealing last year it was ‘time to leave the US’.

But DailyMail.com reported that the couple are now at a ‘standoff’, with Rod refusing to leave LA.

It was reported that Penny refused to stay after extending his Las Vegas residency and turned down two offers on the sprawling nine-bedroom property just over a month ago.

The news came days after Penny – who has sons Alastair, 18, and Aiden, 13, with the Maggie May singer who she married in 2007 – hinted at ‘family problems’.

“Rod loves his life in LA and flies back and forth to Vegas for his gigs,” said a well-placed insider.

“He spends quality time with his grandchildren and hosts a banquet dinner at home for a crowd of his closest friends almost every Sunday evening.”

Rod revealed plans to move to his native Britain in June 2023 when he put his 30,000 sq ft Beverly Hills home on the market – which also includes a three-storey guesthouse, swimming pool and sizable football pitch for £52 million .

He then increased the asking price to £60 million in December, before cutting it by £4.5 million in February, leaving a price tag of £55 million.

But Rod has since taken the property off the market, leaving Lancaster – who regularly appears on British panel show Loose Women, works as a special constable for the City of London Police and calls the British countryside ‘home’ – furious .

“Penny has no plans to return to LA, which she is not a fan of, while Rod has no plans to move back at this time,” the insider continued.

‘They’re at a stalemate and Penny is angry that Rod has gone back on his word. Now it’s about saving their marriage.’

DailyMail.com contacted representatives for Rod and Penny for comment at the time.
