In a letter from California Area School District Superintendent Laura Jacob, seen here, the parent ignored “all guidelines” and decided to “have lunch with their son.”
Jacob said, “This morning, approximately 10:45 a.m., a parent of a charter school student came to the building for a scheduled parent-teacher conference.
“The parent blatantly ignored all directives to the parent-teacher conference room and decided to walk to the cafeteria ‘to have lunch’ with their son.
‘Further directives from the principal and school police officer were challenged and the parent was escorted from the building, handcuffed and arrested with additional police support.
“The parent has been arrested, charged and will be served with a trespassing order on behalf of the district.
“If a parent or other individual disregards these protocols by entering the building unattended, it is a violation of school security, which will result in arrests and legal action under trespass laws and school safety policies.”
