At least three people have been killed after a bus collided with another vehicle on a stretch of Interstate 81 in Pennsylvania on Sunday evening.

Several other passengers on the bus, which was carrying 45-50 people, were also seriously injured in the collision, officials said.

The bus was traveling through Dauphin County’s Lower Paxton Township when it struck another passenger vehicle at approximately 11:49 p.m. and overturned. Photos from the crime scene show it coming to rest on its side in a roadside embankment.

Trooper Megan Frazer said, “Several passengers on the bus have died. Several people were transported to Hershey Medical Center with various injuries.”

The identities of the victims have not been released and police are currently in the process of informing their next of kin.
