‘I must die’: Penn State chemistry professor begged police to shoot him when they allegedly caught him performing sex acts with his dog

A Penn State professor accused of engaging in sexual acts with his dog pleaded with police to shoot him during his arrest over the disturbing allegation.
Themis Matsoukas, 64, was reportedly caught red-handed on surveillance cameras near the bathrooms in Rockrock State Forest wearing a mask while half naked except for socks and shoes.
After police tracked him down and showed up on his doorstep, Matsoukas reportedly became “visibly nervous,” before telling officers, “What do I have to do to get you to shoot me?” I must die.’
During the arrest, he reportedly then admitted that he did the depraved act to ‘blow off steam’.

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources launched an investigation after security cameras designed to monitor thieves caught the lewd acts on film.
Matsoukas is believed to have carried out the acts in and around the forest car park and toilets, where police say he sexually assaulted his pet collie.
The lurid habit also caused the award-winning professor to attempt to record himself performing the acts with an electronic tablet, reports fox43.
And according to the affidavit, Matsoukas was seen on the surveillance footage masturbating near a public women’s restroom before “committing a sexual act with a dog.”
It is alleged that Matsoukas’ has been carrying out the depraved act since 2014. After the suspect was caught again in May, investigators tracked his car and were able to obtain a search warrant for his home and vehicle.
Officials reportedly tried to link the professor to items from the park footage, including a North Face backpack, a ski mask, an electronic tablet and his pet collie.

The award-winning educator has been charged with a litany of crimes, including having sexual intercourse with an animal
But when detectives caught up with the suspect, Matsoukas began to “panic” while initially denying any knowledge of the perverted dealings, documents claim.
When officers said they thought they knew why they were at his door, the professor fell into despair and asked the officers to shoot him.
When asked about his motive for the bizarre fetish, he reportedly told the detectives: “I do it to blow off steam.”
Officers reportedly saw the collie in Matsoukas’ home that matched the dog in the park’s surveillance footage.
They also recovered items similar to those worn by the man in the videos, along with three electronic tablets, according to the indictment documents.
He faces charges of public lewdness, indecent exposure, sexual intercourse with an animal and summary charges of cruelty to animals and disorderly conduct.
His lawyer, Matthew McClenahen, said on Wednesday: “It would be inappropriate to comment at this time.”
Penn State University said after his arrest that he is now “relieved of his responsibilities and on leave.” He had been in college since 1991, where he won several distinguished teaching awards.
