Pedro Porro reveals he did not train with Sporting Lisbon yesterday because he was “only focused” on Tottenham’s £42m move after speaking at airport before flying to London overnight to complete deadline day transfer .
Pedro Porro claims he will miss playing for Sporting Lisbon but insists he is excited to “pursue” his “dream” of playing in the Premier League after reaching a deal with Tottenham.
Porro agreed a £42m contract with Spurs on Monday night and arrived at Luton airport at 2:30am on Tuesday ahead of his medical with the north London club.
Speaking to reporters at the airport, the 23-year-old said he was “very happy” about “this next step” in his career, but insisted he had not burned any bridges with the Portuguese club.

speaking to CMTV On his departure to Tottenham, Porro said: “I am very happy for this step, but I am also leaving a club that has given me everything and I hope they do well.”
Asked if his desire to leave Sporting Lisbon ruined his friendships at the club, Porro said: ‘I left a lot of friends here. They know that since I arrived I am very grateful to them. Now I have to live my life, pursue my dream and I hope everything turns out well.’
The 23-year-old star said he has yet to speak to Tottenham manager Antonio Conte.
Porro went on to discuss the events leading up to his transfer and whether he refused to train. He told reporters: ‘No, no. I just asked, like they were negotiating and my head wasn’t right. But Sporting also understood it very well and I thank them.
Porro went on to reveal that he has yet to speak to Tottenham manager Antonio Conte. When asked if he had spoken to his new boss, Porro said: ‘No, no. Not yet.’
