The heartbroken daughter of a woman who died in a fire accident recalled her mother’s last voicemail message as police waited to speak to the mother of an NRL star about the devastating accident.

Uiatu ‘Joan’ Taufua, 46, mother of Brisbane Broncos star Payne Haas, remains in hospital with multiple fractures, internal injuries and bruised lungs after a gruesome two-car collision in Bonogin, in the interior of Gold Coast on Friday.

Susan Zimmer, 70, her partner Chris Fawcett, 79, and Mrs Zimmer’s daughter Stephanie, 35, died in the fiery crash, while the sole survivor, Taufua, had to be pulled from a wagon Black Mercedes before being rushed to hospital in critical condition.

As CCTV emerged from the black Mercedes coach that was allegedly speeding moments before the tragedy, Ms Zimmer’s surviving daughter spoke of her anguish while visiting the crash site.

Claudine Snow broke down in tears as she recalled her last conversation with her mother, whom she described as her best friend.

Claudine Snow (pictured) has broken her silence about the accident that claimed the lives of her mother, sister and stepfather on the Gold Coast.

“The last thing (mom) said to me in a voicemail was that she was worried about driving this time of year,” Snow told reporters.

“I wish I had listened to her gut and not come out.”

He also revived the police phone call early Saturday.

“I just fell to my knees,” he said.

I knew it was Mom. (The person on the phone) said, “They’re all gone.”‘

She recalled how her ‘incredible’ sister could ‘light up the room’ and ‘make anyone laugh’ and said her stepfather, Dr Fawcett, a former skin cancer specialist, had ‘saved so many lives’.

Ms Snow said her life would never be the same again and she doesn’t know how she will recover from the heartbreaking loss as she issued a heartbreaking plea to drivers.

“My mother, my stepfather, my only brother, my sister, have been taken from me,” he said.

‘This shouldn’t have happened.

“I want people to know that when you get behind the wheel, you hold other people’s lives in your hands.

It has destroyed my life. I don’t know if I can ever be happy again.

The community has placed wreaths and wooden crosses in honor of the three victims at the crash site.

“It’s really nice to come here and see complete strangers and just hug them for their support.”

Uiatu ‘Joan’ Taufua, 46, mother of Brisbane Broncos player Payne Haas, was the sole survivor of Friday’s fiery crash and remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Ms Snow’s tragic tribute comes as footage emerged showing the black Mercedes van Taufua was allegedly speeding down Bonogin Road minutes before the accident.

The wagon was involved in a collision with a silver Mercedes carrying the three victims on the same highway shortly thereafter.

CCTV emerged after Queensland police alleged that Taufua was seen “driving erratically” shortly before the crash and sped off when a patrol car activated its lights and sirens in an attempt to stop her.

Police revealed Sunday that officers have yet to interview Taufua about the accident while they wait for his condition to improve.

“Police have been consulting with the hospital regarding (his condition),” Acting Chief Superintendent Christopher Stream said.

“The driver (Ms. Taufua) of that vehicle also suffered significant injuries and, at this time, the police do not have medical clearance to interview that driver.

But as soon as we can, we’ll interview that driver.

Taufua’s license was allegedly suspended at the time after he recently served a month in prison for assaulting two security guards at the Star Gold Coast casino.

Gold Coast Superintendent Craig Hanlon said the scene shocked police and emergency crews in attendance, as well as members of the public in attendance.

The 45-year-old man who helped free Taufua from his burning car needed treatment at Robina Hospital for “emotional distress”.

His NRL star son has yet to speak out about the tragedy, while the Brisbane Broncos declined to comment.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

Witnesses and anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the accident or moments before are urged to come forward.

The harrowing scene of the accident has taken a heavy toll on first responders and witnesses.
