Fighting for his life in hospital, the teenage brother of NRL star Payne Haas suffers a suspected drug overdose, which has left one young man dead and another in critical condition.

Zeda Haas, 19, was found unconscious by paramedics after ingesting suspected GHB or fantasy at his parents’ home in Gaven on the Gold Coast early Sunday morning.

He was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital in critical condition.

Paramedics were then called to a property in nearby Arundel and found two more men, 19, also suspected of overdosing.

The couple was also taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.

However, one of the teens, Jeremiah Lolohea, died shortly after being admitted.

A relative of Mr. Lolohea shared an emotional tribute to the young man on Facebook.

“We are absolutely devastated and trying to work our way through this news,” she wrote.

“We are asking you all to be patient as we confirm funeral details which will be posted once finalized.

“Jeremiah Lolohea – We love you so much, to heaven and back. Please watch over us and guide us through this most difficult time.”

A group of people were seen hugging and crying at the Arundel address on Sunday morning The courier mail.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said they do not consider Mr Lolohea’s death suspicious.

“Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the sudden death of a 19-year-old Arundel man on the Gold Coast in the early hours of Sunday May 14,” she said.

“The man was found unconscious in the garage of an Arundel property and was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital, where he died shortly afterwards.”

It is clear that all three young men knew each other.

The Gaven estate is owned by Gregor Haas and Uiatu “Joan” Taufua, the parents of both Zeda and Broncos player Payne Haas, 23.

It is not suggested that members of the Haas family were involved in the incident.

Taufau, 46, is currently in pre-trial detention after allegedly causing a fiery car accident in the Gold Coast hinterland on December 30.

The footballer’s mother was reportedly driving her black Mercedes through Bonogin when she crashed into a silver Mercedes, killing all occupants: Susan Zimmer, 70, her partner Chris Fawcett, 79, and her daughter Stephanie, 35.

She was charged with three counts of manslaughter, dangerous operating a motor vehicle, evading police, driving under the influence and driving without a license.
