“It was a great night for him as someone who goes in and out. He has to cement a place and I think he went a long way in doing that tonight.
‘He was excellent, for the first 20 minutes he looked the sharpest player on the pitch and he proved that in the second half.
“He’s been in and out a little bit, but there’s competition in those places.
“He came in and really committed to that position. He probably deserves to play this weekend.”
Interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy joined in the praise for Amad after the match, claiming the winger had ‘made the difference’ for Man United.
Van Nistelrooy highlighted Amad’s attitude during training, revealing that the 22-year-old had not suffered any impact from coming in and out of the starting line-up.
‘Amad made the difference for us today, of course with his goals, but he was also sharp and in the first half he was one of the few who was at his level. Well done to him,” he said.

‘He was incredible [in training]. He never had any problems with not playing, he always trained well and stayed on the field to do extra things.
‘Ruud let’s do more, let’s do more, we have done a lot of work. That’s an example.’
