Paul Pogba has had his four-year drug ban reduced to just 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
In a huge development that culminates in an important victory for the midfielder, Mail Sport can exclusively reveal that the World Cup winner’s original ban, which started on September 11, 2023, will end in March 2024.
Pogba faced a possible retirement from football if CAS had upheld his four-year ban.
However, the 31-year-old could start making plans to restart his career.
It is understood that the CAS ruling will allow Pogba to resume training in January 2025.

However, he can now start planning his return to football and will be able to play in March
His original fine of €5,000 has been withdrawn.
The final decision by CAS confirmed that Pogba had accidentally taken DHEA, a substance that increases testosterone and is on the WADA banned list.
Crucially, however, the ruling states that DHEA affects women.
Pogba’s appeal took place at the end of August at CAS headquarters in Switzerland and the player was only recently informed of the verdict.
The former Manchester United midfielder was suspended after playing for Juventus in the opening match of the 203/24 season against Udinese on August 20.
Mail Sport revealed in May that a US clinic, 10X Health Systems, is at the center of Pogba’s ongoing battle to clear his name, with the company mentioned in the midfielder’s submissions.
