France secured a place in the World Cup final without Pogba, who was ruled out of the tournament with a thigh injury after recovering from knee surgery.

Didier Deschamps is also missing Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema and star midfielder N’Golo Kante for the Qatar tournament.

However, Pogba has landed in Qatar and will be in the stands to support his teammates during today’s final.

However, a virus that deprived Deschamps of three players for his semi-final win over Morocco on Wednesday at Al Bayt threatens to wipe out more of his Les Bleus squad.

The match between France and Argentina will take place at the Lusail Iconic Stadium

There were talks of Benzema’s return to the squad for their showdown with Argentina after recovering from his thigh injury.

Since Benzema never officially withdrew from the France team, he would be eligible to play in the final.

However, Deschamps has decided not to recall the 34-year-old, who is still in Spain training with Real Madrid.
